I closed my mortgage business in March 2008 after several successful years in that field. What I was left with was 3 houses in foreclosure, 2 cars that were repossessed and a line of creditors waiting to get a piece of me. On top of that a staggering tax debt, since I tried to keep my doors open instead of just walking away.

I had no where to turn and then God placed an opportunity in front of me that forever changed my family's future. I got a phone call from an old real estate client that told me that he had an opening as an insurance agent. Not knowing the details and looking at my situation I asked if it were possible for me to make $150k my first year. ( This was the only way in my mind I could turn my situation around.) He told me that he would provide the opportunity, training, and the blue prints to do so. The only catch is he said that I would have to follow his system exactly and work my butt off 70 hours a week if I wanted to make $150k in the first 12 months. At that point I was willing to do whatever it took to feed my family and get myself out of the financial mess I was in.

I started and did just that. My first month I worked 7 days a week and was in the field from 9am to 9pm most days. I followed his instructions and matched with my sales ability and work ethic and was able to become the #1 agent in the country my 1st month. This was in April 2008 and I sold 67 applications for $36,000 in new business and grossed over $17,000 in income.(All using their leads system, NOT my friends and family) I didn't do this because I'm extraordinary, but because I followed his system and executed it day in and day out.

At the end of my first year I was the highest averaging agent in the country and was promoted into a management position. I have taught my group the same things I was taught and followed a system that took me to #1 District Manager in 2009. My group brought in just shy of $1.5 Million in new business for the year and got me a promotion to Regional Manager. 2010 we grew from $1.5 Million to over $2.2 Million in 2010 and I we ranked 8th Nationally with other Regional Managers that have been here for decades. 2011 we hit $3.3 Million in new business and are on pace to smash $4,500,000 in new business for 2012.

My personal group grew 50% in 2011 with a year end finish of $3.3 Million in new business. We are currently on pace to break $4.5 Million in 2012 with 40% growth in 2012.


Long story short I grossed $175,000+ in my first full 12 months. In 2009 I grossed over $284,000 and in 2010 I came in just shy of $400,000. 2011 I finished the year at $690,682 and $908,773 for YTD Novemeber 2012 (We also had our biggest month ever of $434,777). So I have grossed $2,395,000 since I started in April 2008! ( We are supposed to be in a Recession)


On top of all that I broke the $3,300,000 in Residuals (Retirement) last month.

Now when I started I committed 100% to this company, our system, and ideal that failure was not an option. If others could do this and make millions of dollars, so could I?

Celebrities rarely shy away from public peddling of dubious ideas about health and science, and 2012 was no exception.

In its annual list of the year's worst abuses against science, the Sense About Science (SAS) campaign also named former U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney for spreading misinformation about windows on planes, and Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps for false justifications for peeing in the pool.

To help set the record straight, SAS, a charity dedicated to helping people make sense of science and evidence, invited qualified scientists to respond to some of the wilder pseudo-scientific claims put about by the rich and famous.

It suggested Romney, who wondered aloud in September why aircraft crews don't just open the windows when there's a fire on board, should listen to aeronautical engineer Jakob Whitfield:

"Unfortunately, Mitt, opening a window at height wouldn't do much good," the scientist said. "In fact, if you could open a window whilst in flight, the air would rush out...because air moves from the high pressure cabin to the lower pressure outside, probably causing further injury and damage."

January Jones's dried placenta pills, which the actress admitted in March she consumed after giving birth, win no favor with Catherine Collins, principal dietician at St George's Hospital in London.

"Nutritionally, there's nothing to be gained from eating your placenta - raw, cooked, or dried," Collins said. "Apart from iron, which can be easily found in other dietary choices or supplements, your placenta will provide toxins and other unsavory substances it had successfully prevented from reaching your baby in utero."

Gary Moss, a pharmaceutical scientist, patiently points out to Palmer that while caffeine may have an effect on cellulite, rubbing coffee granules into the skin is unlikely to work, since the caffeine can't escape the granules to penetrate the skin.

Phelps's claim that it's fine to pee in the pool because "chlorine kills it" is put straight by biochemist Stuart Jones, who reminds him that "urine is essentially sterile so there isn't actually anything to kill in the first place".

And for Cowell, Kay Mitchell a scientist at the Centre for Altitude Space and Extreme Environment Medicine warns that very high levels of oxygen can in fact be toxic - particularly in the lungs, where oxygen levels are highest.

"Celebrity comments travel far and fast, so it's important that they talk sense," said Sense About Science's managing director Tracey Brown. "The implausible and frankly dangerous claims about how to avoid cancer, improve skin or lose weight are becoming ever more ridiculous. And unfortunately they have a much higher profile than the research and evidence."

To encourage more vigilance among celebrity pseudo-scientists in the future, SAS provided a checklist of "misleading science claims" it suggests should be avoided:

* "Immune boosting" - you can't and you don't need to

* "Detox" - your liver does this

* "Superfood" - there is no such thing, just foods that are high in some nutrients

* "Oxygenating" - your lungs do this

* "Cleansing" - you shouldn't be trying to cleanse anything other than your skin or hair.

Less than six months after his divorce from Katie Holmes, the 50-year-old “Jack Reacher” star had a passionate pas-de-deux with Cynthia Jorge, a brunette Fresh Meadows native half his age, including some dirty dancing at the trendy Mulberry St. club, Le Baron, on Dec. 18.

He wouldn’t comment on whether the pair are in a relationship, but he did say Cruise would be the lucky one if there is: “She's nice. She's outgoing. She's a people person," he said.

Jorge may not be a regular on the red carpet, but the 2008 Boston University graduate has made a name for herself in a few short years in New York City’s culinary world.

“As a New Yorker, I have learned that in order to succeed, one must work fast, strike hard and make every move count,” she wrote on her Linked In profile.

Jorge previously worked at Benvenuti Public Relations firm and as the marketing director at Benjamin’s Steakhouse in midtown.

“She was a hard worker," said a floor manager at Benjamin’s.

She told Joonbug.com six months ago that she liked her job at Benjamin’s because she enjoyed, “meeting new people, from CEOs to celebrities to just really interesting people in the industry.”

Pictures showed Rihanna looking longingly at her one-time assailant and possibly current beau.

The public appearance seemed to confirm persistent rumors that the two are back together.

The superstar couple was dating when Brown blooded RiRi just before the Grammys in February 2009.

The R&B bad boy pleaded guilty to assault after the incident and is still on probation.

But he had recently professed his undying "love" for the Barbadian beauty, dumping girlfriend Karrueche Tran, TMZ said.

Rihanna hasn’t been shy in sharing photos with Brown on Twitter. One showed them holding hands and another had them posing next a car with the hashtag #ThugLife.
