We are seeking a Senior Statistical Analyst to join our team as a high level specialist with a wide range of in-depth statistical knowledge across a departmental area accountable for various statistical research assignments. Role includes in-depth data analysis, application of Nielsen's proprietary methodologies, proje ction design and support, supporting new potential services, and providing client consultation involving Measurement Science based initiatives.

Responsibilities include:
- Independently execute activities and implement approved projects for the Area of Specialization, such as sample replacements, projection controls, statistical modeling, technical research, shipment-based modeling, or client inquiries
- Identify and recommend process improvements
- Work with internal clients to understand business needs and requirements, identify project activities, and recommend alternative approaches if appropriate
- Assist group manager with implementing/researching new design capabilities
- Conduct and deliver studies to answer client questions, respond to client concerns, or justify Nielsen methods, procedures and practices
- Document requirements for the area of specialization and assist in special analyses
- Stay abreast of new Nielsen and statistical research developments, and pursues their internal application


Qualifications:
- BS in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Sociology, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Two or more years of experience at the Analyst level or equivalent
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on assignments with requirements as to general results expected, and deliver results on-time and within budget
- Strong Computer skills
- Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills
- Proven analytical report writing skills
- Strong problem solving skills (deductive reasoning, able to see hierarchical relationships, logical thinking)
- Proven ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Academic or practical experience in conducting consumer or establishment surveys, analyzing large data sets, utilizing statistical s oftware packages, such as SAS, or technical consultation
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions at all levels

Desired:
- MS in Statistics, Mathematics, etc.
- Project management experience
- Statistical modeling experience
- Experience with UNIX environment
- Process training
