Paul McCartney and Kanye West play role of divas over Sandy relief concert album.

Even though Kanye West and Paul McCartney performed at the “12-12-12” concert for Sandy relief,” the two acted like complete divas when it came to the album of the concert. It was released last Tuesday, with sales going to charity.

West, who rocked a leather skirt and performed a mediocre 13-song set at the Madison Square Garden megashow, was the only artist not featured on the album at all. Former Beatle McCartney allowed just one song on the digital release. A double-CD version comes out in a few weeks, and they won’t add any songs to that version, either.

“Everyone’s being too polite about Kanye not doing it,” a concert insider tells Confidenti@l’s Marianne Garvey. “No one knows for sure why he refused, whether he knew in advance his performance wouldn’t work because it was a long megamix of his hits and would be a pain to clear, or whether he didn’t want to be in the company of those artists on the album.

“But the point is, executives knew before the show aired he wouldn’t be on the record, which is a shame because he was great,” said the source.

As for McCartney, the source tells us his minimal participation was straight-up vanity. “Egos are also to blame for there only being one Paul track. He didn’t like the way he sounded and would only approve the one on the album. A shame, because ‘Blackbird’ was so beautiful live!” says the source. It’s “unfortunate that celebrity ego can tarnish even a concert for charity.”

Fortunately, others who performed at the concert, including Eddie Vedder, Adam Sandler and Michael Stipe, had no problem contributing their entire sets to the album, which is projected to sell about 150,000 units its first week.

All of the proceeds from Columbia and iTunes go to the Robin Hood Relief Fund, which is helping those hit hardest by Sandy. Requests for comment from West, Columbia and Clear Channel were not returned by deadline.

VINNY TO BE A MAN OF THE YEAR

“Jersey Shore” star Vinny Guadagnino is banking big bucks while he still can. The reality star signed a deal with Joonbug.com “upwards of $ 10,000” to host a party at AMC34 Theater in New York, which will be turned into a massive dance club with a five-hour open bar for New Year’s Eve. “I’m stoked to host the biggest night of the year in the best city to celebrate,” said Guadagnino.

ASNER HAS APPETITE FOR THE STAGE

Just call him Crumbs. The cast of Broadway’s “Grace” celebrated the Cort Theatre’s 100th anniversary Thursday, where Michael Shannon told Confidenti@l that his castmate Ed Asner’s table manners earned the 83-year-old actor a nickname. “We had this table that would have muffins, bagels and stuff, and every day he would come in and get his muffin, peel it and sit there â€" then he would come up for his scene and leave crumbs all over the stage. So we called him ‘Crumbs.’ ”

CHEBAN’S FINTASTIC OPENING

Unlike Scott Disick’s failed Ryu restaurant, Kim Kardashian bestie Jonathan Cheban’s Sushi Mikasa, with chef Kevin Chun, is pulling in a star-studded crowd. On Thursday, Lenox Lewis stopped in, and since it opened Cheban’s had Lance Bass, the Miami Heat’s Chris Bosh and Pharrell come to eat. “It’s very high end! Couture Sushi is what everyone calls it,” says Cheban.
