Katie Holmes may have dived into the New York City dating pool. The “Dead Accounts” actress and mom to 6-year-old daughter Suri was spotted with a handsome guy who walked her inside her Chelsea building late Saturday night and lingered while they said an extended goodbye.

“They were saying a long, long goodnight, talking and looking pretty romantic in the lobby around 2 a.m.,” an eyewitness tells Confidenti@l’s Marianne Garvey. “He looked like a finance type, was wearing classic Cole Haan shoes and a navy pea coat. He walked her to the elevator and then she said ‘good night’ and smiled.”

Our spy also says Holmes, who turned 34 on Tuesday, looked “gorgeous,” dressed simply in a white Burberry trench with jeans and flats and was leaning against the wall “twirling her hair with one leg up. She was very pretty and very flirty.”

Holmes’ rep tells us despite the flirty interaction, the man is Holmes’ gay best friend. Meanwhile, her ex-hubby Tom Cruise, who canceled the Pittsburgh premiere of “Jack Reacher” out of respect for the Sandy Hook school shooting victims, was in Pittsburgh last night at an advanced screening of the movie held for local fans. There was no red carpet.

He also promoted the flick on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” Tuesday, in full crazy Cruise mode, playing water war with Fallon using an enormous water gun and getting a pitcher of water dumped on his face.

Cruise will see daughter Suri for the holidays, but the 6-year-old will be with Holmes on Christmas day. For her first Christmas without her parents, Suri, who will reportedly be gifted a $ 24,000 playhouse, has asked Santa for salsa classes and singing lessons. “She can really sing and she’s a really talented little girl,” says a source. “She’s really normal and just cares about hanging out with her friends.”

BUBBLES’ HOLIDAY IS CHIMPLY MARVELOUS

Hopefully Bubbles the chimp isn’t reading this, because we know what he’s getting for Christmas.

Center for Great Apes founder Patti Ragan tells Confidenti@l that Michael Jackson’s former pet, who’s resided at her Florida sanctuary for eight years, loves monkeying around with backpacks and Velcro, so that’s what Santa will bring him this year.

Maybe the 26-year-old chimp can use his new accessory to cart around art supplies. A couple of weeks ago at Art Basel, Bubbles sold a $ 1,500 painting. According to Ragan, several of the 45 knuckle-dragging residents at the Center for Great Apes enjoy not just painting, but playing with iPads, too.

“They do get presents,” says Ragan. She also tells Confidenti@l that Bubbles and the other primates at her sanctuary get holiday snacks this time of year, though for health reasons â€" and perhaps to avoid hyperactivity â€" she tries to keep them away from sugar.

“He’s one of the dominant males of the group,” Ragan says of Bubbles. Apparently the six years he spent with Jacko didn’t rub off.

Bubbles will spend the holidays at home with other showbiz apes, whose work includes ads for Career Builders, the soap opera “Passions” and films including “The Flintstones” and “Planet of the Apes.”
