Job Description
Montefiore Medical Center located in Bronx, New York is an university hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research. The Transplant Center includes adult kidney, heart, liver transplantations and pediatric kidney and heart transplantations as well. The transplant Immunology Laboratory is mainly supporting the solid organ transplantation now and will support bone marrow transplantation soon.
Responsibilities
Perform immunogenetic testing related to the field of solid organ and bone marrow transplantation, employing techniques such as CDC, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, DNA (Molecular) analysis for HLA typing, HLA antibody detection and T/B cell crossmatches. Participates in quality control monitoring and evaluation of data. Adheres to departmental safety policies.
Job Requirements
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors Degree in Biological related fields, or MT (ASCP) or credentialing as Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) or Specialist (CHS) preferred. Demonstrated excellence in verbal, written, computer and technical skills.
