This Information Design Developer role is initially for contract work. We would work together to meet project-by-project requirements on a subcontracted basis. Depending on the success of contract work, this could evolve into a salaried position. Preference will be given to those who present competitive rates that can fit into a client's overall budget. However, we ask that your rates also reflect the high quality and commitment you bring to your work.
We are based in New York City and are looking for candidates who can work in New York City Monday - Friday. The candidate should also be prepared to travel within the 50 states and potentially abroad for periods of time to work at our clients' sites.
Here are some examples of skills that we would need:
o 1-5 years work experience - if you have more, that's fine, but you might find the role less developmental
o Developing business requirements for reporting and tracking tools - both front end and back end
o Database design and development, or other experiences with working with 'big data'
o Familiar with descriptive and probabilistic statistics
o Experienced working with MS Excel and Access
o Demonstrable experiences with client handling and project management
These additional skills will help distinguish you:
o Knowledge of social network analysis
o Extracting data from public domain websites via APIs
o Development of visuals and dashboards inTableau, Spotfire, or Panopticon
o Data visualization, visual diagramming, wireframing or other layout related work
