Sofia Vergara isn't stressing about another fashion flub

Sofia Vergara isn’t sweating the possibility of another epic wardrobe fail on the red carpet.

After the “Modern Family” actress suffered a revealing fashion flub at the 2012 Primetime Emmy Awards, she says there’s no way to avoid the embarrassment of baring it all.

“When you're on the red carpet, a lot of people step on your dress and pull it," Vergara told PEOPLE Friday. “You can never really control it, but you just hope for the best."

For her, the best is just being there.

"The award is just going to the awards show,” she said. “I never expected in my life that I was going to be part of a show like Modern Family and be nominated for anything. I'm very new to acting, so for me, it's a party."

The hit ABC show is still one of the top nominees after several sweeps, including a big win at last year’s Golden Globes.

Even though Vergara and co-star Eric Stonestreet have been singled out for individual awards, she says awards shows are a cast family affair.

"We have drinks. We make it a nice day,” she said. “I think [our cast's chemistry] is luck. We honestly like each other. We don't have any competition."
